Vowel Signs

Matras and barahkhadi · मात्राएँ और बारहखड़ी

Hindi vowel signs join a consonant to change its sound. Study each sign with क, then apply the same sign to ग. Work in short sets of five, and return to review whenever you like.

For example, क + ा becomes का. The short इ sign appears before the consonant when written: क + ि becomes कि. Hear each complete combination using the replay controls. New recordings are pending pronunciation review on DEV.
